Fragrance Oils vs Essential Oils
Fragrance Oils (also called Perfume Oils) are synthetically made and designed for topical use only. They should not be consumed or otherwise internally used. Use them to smell good! They are ideal as perfume, and can work for aromatherapy. Fragrance Oils are what we offer here at Silk Road Traders.
Essential oils are made by extracting raw plant matter into a carrier oil base. It is generally not recommended you consume them. They are popularly used for aromatherapy, and topical treatments when diluted appropriately. We do not sell essential oils. All oils from Silk Road Traders are synthetic Fragrance Oils.
Why synthetic fragrance oils?
ESSENTIAL OILS ARE HARD ON THE ENVIRONMENT!
Essential oils are extracts derived from flowers, roots, leaves, and other parts of plants. Essential oils have gained in popularity in recent years for use in healing and relaxation techniques. However, the volume of plant matter needed to sustain the booming essential oil industry in the Western World is wreaking havoc on delicate exotic ecosystems around the world. Additionally, since we at Silk Road Traders are perfumers and not aromatherapists, homeopaths, or healers, our goal is to help you smell good with as minimal an impact on the environment as possible.
