The Skjoldehamn Braid is an ancient simple weaving style originally seen on an archaeological find discovered in the bogs of Norway. It is a 12 strand braid used for narrow ties on leg wraps, belts, or in the hair.
These belts are approximately 3/4 of an inch wide, by two yards long. The fibers are 100% cotton, dyed with natural vegetable dyes garden grown or wild harvested on our farm in Southwest Virginia. Each belt takes approximately two hours to braid.
